About BVG India

  • BVG India Limited (‘BVG’ or ‘the Company’) was incorporated on 20 March 2002 as Bharat Vikas Utility Services Limited. The name of the Company was subsequently changed to BVG India Limited on 7 July 2004.
  • Inspired by thoughts of the great thinker Swami Vivekananda, a teenage engineering student set out in 1991 to contribute to India’s Progress (Bharat Vikas). HR Gaikwad, Chairman and Managing Director, BVG India Limited
  • In 1993, he started a non-profit Bharat Vikas Pratishthan to funds of poor & needy students, having been through financial struggles himself. His career began with Telco (now Tata Motors) as a graduate trainee engineer in 1995 and his non-profit now started to help rural youth get jobs and livelihood.
  • The birth of BVG (Bharat Vikas Group) in 1997 as a housekeeping company with 8 people & 1 client. Sheer focus on the quality of work, ‘Yes, we can’ approach to work, and a dedicated team of BVGians has taken BVG from an 8-member housekeeping company to India’s Largest Integrated services company with 75000+  employees, serving 800+ sites for 750+ customers in 70 cities across 20 states across India.
  • It has now grown to become an integrated services company with employee strength of more than 65,000.
  • The Company won some prestigious contracts during the year, including lake rejuvenation contracts under the Dahod and Sholapur smart city development programs initiated by the Government of India.

Future Outlook:

  • While the outbreak has had an impact on almost all entities either directly or indirectly, COVID-19 has not had a significant impact on the operations and functioning of our organization. There are various segments in which we operate (viz. running and maintenance of ambulances and police vehicles, solid waste management, cleaning and maintenance of essential premises such as Government buildings, hospitals etc.) where there has been no stoppage of work and in fact, the level of operations have increased. Being in the business of cleaning and facility management, we expect to attract more business as the lockdown is being lifted gradually in the country.

  • BVG India Industry Overview

Industry Statistics

  • Facility Management (FM) refers to the use of third-party service providers to maintain a part or entire building facility in a professional manner. It is increasingly gaining popularity amongst commercial as well as residential clients driven by modernization, rapid urban development and a growing awareness of advantages arising from outsourcing non-core business activities.
  • The Indian facility management market accounts for 3.2% of the GDP of the country and is at present an INR 5 lakh crore market and is expected to grow at a rate of 20-25% annually. The market is highly fragmented with relatively few organized players. However, with the growing formalization of the economy, the proportion of organized players is steadily increasing.
  • At present, the organized FM services industry in India is valued at INR 50 thousand crore constituting 10% of the total market. This is expected to grow to INR 1.25 lakh crore by 2022. In India FM services companies have only tapped 25% of the addressable market with 75% of this work still being undertaken in-house, a stark contrast to 49% at the global level.
