  • NSE changes expiry of all F&O contracts from Thursday to Monday effective April 4

    04 March 2025

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) announced on March 4 that, starting from April 4, all Nifty index weekly futures and options (F&O) contracts will now expire on Mondays instead of Thursdays. Additionally, all Nifty F&O contracts will be set to expire on the last Monday of the expiry month. The NSE has also changed the expiry date for Bank Nifty, FinNifty, Nifty Midcap Select, and Nifty Next50 F&O contracts to the last Monday of the expiry month, effective from April 4.

According to the NSE, "The circular shall come into effect from April 4, 2025. This means that the expiry day for all existing contracts will be revised to the 'New Expiry Day' on April 3, 2025 (end of day)." Furthermore, monthly contracts for all stocks will also expire on the last Monday of the expiry month, as stated by the NSE.
