Multinational firms are seizing investment possibilities to improve innovation and increase capacity in their Shanghai factories and research and development centers as local advanced manufacturing develops quickly.

R&D is being prioritized more and more, therefore Signify established the second-largest internal R&D center in the world in Shanghai, which handles about 90% of the company's global R&D duties.
