Fuel supply eases at private retail outlets, but sales slow

    12 July 2022

The government's move to impose a cess on exports of diesel, petrol and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) on 1st July will provide regular fuel supply to private fuel retailers.

Private fuel retailers like Jio-BP and Nayara Energy, are likely to meet their fuel demand due to the monsoon and the retail price differential between public sector units and private pump prices.

Nayara Energy said it is diverting export volumes towards meeting the domestic demands of its customers even before 1st July. The company has been absorbing a significant part of the substantial drop in margins since January 2022 and has taken a nominal price increase across its retail outlets.
