- Varun Alagh, an engineer from Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and MBA graduate from XLRI Jamshedpur, is the founder of Honasa, a venture aimed at creating honest, natural, and safe products. Their flagship brand, mamaearth, is Asia's first MadeSafe certified brand, offering safe and natural products to reduce stress among parents.
- Previously, Varun managed Coca-Cola's brands, including its Diets and Lights portfolio, for India and South West Asia. He also worked with Diageo Plc, managing the world's No. 1 spirits brand, Smirnoff, for India. In these roles, he focused on delivering top-line and bottom-line growth by overseeing various marketing strategies.
- Before transitioning into marketing, Varun spent three years in sales at Hindustan Unilever, managing a significant area across multiple categories. He led a large team and was consistently recognized as one of the top managers in the company.
- Throughout his education, Varun gained practical experience with companies like Colgate Palmolive, Havells Electric, Madura Garments, Maruti, and Nokia through internships and live projects.
- On a personal note, Varun is known for his adventurous spirit and enthusiasm for new challenges. He is married to Ghazal Alagh.
