Birth & Early Life

Sanjeev Barnwal graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 2012.
He is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Meesho, India's largest social commerce platform, valued at $2.1 billion.
Apart from his entrepreneurial pursuits, Sanjeev actively advises founders and invests in startups across India and Southeast Asia.
After working with Sony in Japan, Sanjeev returned to India and co-founded Meesho with his IIT-D batchmate Vidit.
His focus with Meesho is to create an e-commerce platform for the next 500 million consumers in India and make internet commerce accessible to all consumers and small businesses.
As of 2021, Meesho's customer base exceeds 100 million, and it has captured over 90% of India's social commerce market.
IIT Delhi acknowledges Mr. Sanjeev Barnwal for his entrepreneurial prowess and significant contributions to India's startup ecosystem, bringing honor to the institute.
