Ranjan Pai

• ​Ranjan Pai, son of Ramdas Pai, a Padma Bhushan awardee and chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), was born into a family with a rich legacy in education.
  
  
• His grandfather, T. M. A. Pai, established Kasturba Medical College, India's first private, self-financed medical college in 1953.
  
  
• Ranjan Pai graduated from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and pursued his fellowship in Hospital Administration in the United States.
  
  
• He commenced his career as the managing director of the Melaka Manipal Medical College in Malaysia.
  
  
• Initially inclined towards continuing the family's not-for-profit education trust, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Pai later opted to join MEMG's business.​

• Dr. Ranjan R. Pai, President of MAHE Trust and Chairman of MEMG, was honored with the Paryaya Darbar Award at a ceremony during Udupi's Chaturtha Paryaya Mahotsav.
