• Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, commonly known as B.R. Shetty, is an Indian-born businessman and former billionaire renowned for founding and acquiring numerous companies in the United Arab Emirates, notably NMC Health, Neopharma, BRS Ventures, and Finablr. Initially focused on hospitals and hospitality in 1975, Shetty diversified into pharmaceuticals, financial services, retail, advertising, and IT.
• His wealth led to recognition on Forbes' list of India's 100 Richest People, reaching 42nd place in 2019. However, in 2020, amid investigations, Shetty resigned from his board positions. NMC Health's collapse into administration and subsequent financial issues significantly impacted Shetty's net worth, causing Forbes to remove him from their billionaire list.
