• Abhishek Maheshwari, former CEO of Aakash Education, spearheaded a team of over 10,000 employees with a vision to transition Aakash into a high-growth omni-channel enterprise, dedicated to empowering students to fulfill their academic goals.
• Under his leadership, Aakash witnessed remarkable financial growth, achieving approximately 60% revenue and EBITDA Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) from FY21 to FY23. This growth was fueled by a combination of cultural and technological transformations, expansion into new geographical markets, diversification of products, integration of franchise operations, and increased student enrollment both offline and online.
• Prior to his role at Aakash, Abhishek served as the head of Disney in India for several years. In this capacity, he held responsibility for the Profit and Loss (P&L) management, as well as the formulation and execution of strategies across all of Disney's business verticals, encompassing television, film, consumer products, gaming, content creation, and live entertainment. He managed renowned brands such as Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and UTV.
• Before his tenure at Disney, Abhishek led investment initiatives at Kubera, a growth equity fund focusing on cross-border technology investments in the mid-market segment.
• Earlier in his career, Abhishek was associated with McKinsey & Company, where he played pivotal roles in strategy and operations projects spanning various industries across the United States, Europe, and India.
• Abhishek holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with distinction from Columbia Business School in New York and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
• Currently, Abhishek Maheshwar serves as the CEO of BYJU’S, having transitioned from his prior role at Aakash Educational Services Limited.
